Introducing standalone Vortex Themes

vortex-themes v0.1.0: Introducing standalone Vortex Themes

Theme generation, design tokens and theming utilities now ship independently, without a React or Vortex component dependency.

New features

  • Added @vortexlabs/vortex-themes for theme generation, design tokens and theming utilities without a React or Vortex component dependency; Node.js 22.12.0 or later is required.
  • Exported getThemeCSS, baseThemeDefinition, transform, token name types, ThemeSchema, PassedThemeSchema and VortexThemeConfig from the package root, with adaptive theme utilities under /adaptive.
  • Added Vortex and Awen themes and the Astra color override as CSS and JSON assets, plus an optional Inter font stylesheet at @vortexlabs/vortex-themes/themes/awen/fonts.css.
  • Added the vortex-themes theming CLI with project config discovery, explicit config and output options, and bundled theme generation when no project config is present; file-generation helpers are exported from /cli.
  • Added generation of theme variables, typography, breakpoints and Tailwind CSS where applicable.

Breaking changes

  • Moved theme and token APIs previously shipped under @vortexlabs/vortex/themes and @vortexlabs/vortex/tokens to @vortexlabs/vortex-themes. Install the new package and update those imports, including VortexThemeConfig; move CSS and JSON imports to @vortexlabs/vortex-themes/themes/....
  • Replaced vortex theming with vortex-themes theming. Update generation scripts and regenerate custom theme CSS.
  • Replaced Bright with Awen and renamed Flare to Astra. Change bright to awen and flare to astra in asset imports and theme selection.

VortexProvider, ThemeScope and useTheme remain in @vortexlabs/vortex.
